You are not alone. This is one of the most common problems UNIBEN students face on Kofa portal every semester.

There are 5 reasons why UNIBEN Kofa password reset email is not coming:

1. You Are Checking the Wrong Email

This is the #1 reason. UNIBEN Kofa sends password reset to the email you used during JAMB / Post UTME registration, not the email you typed recently. 80% of students are checking Gmail while their Kofa account is linked to Yahoo or another email.

2. UNIBEN Kofa Server is Slow During Registration Period

During course registration and school fees payment deadline, thousands of UNIBEN students are clicking forgot password at once. Kofa server queues emails and it can delay for 2 to 6 hours. Your email will come, but late.

3. The Reset Email Entered Spam / Junk Folder

UNIBEN Kofa emails often go to Spam, Promotions, or Junk folder, not inbox. Gmail especially filters Kofa emails as spam. Many students don't check spam.

4. Your Student Email Has Typo From ICT

Some UNIBEN students have wrong email on Kofa like gamil.com instead of gmail.com because of typing error during admission. If your email has a typo, you will never receive any reset link.

5. You Are Using UNIBEN Student Email Instead of Personal Email

UNIBEN Kofa password reset only works with your personal email (Gmail, Yahoo), not your school email like ...@student.uniben.edu

How to Fix UNIBEN Student Portal Forgot Password Not Sending to Email [5 Working Methods]

Method 1: Check All Your Emails + Spam Folder Properly [Do This First]

Don't just check inbox.

1. Go to your Gmail app

2. Click on Search bar and type: UNIBEN or Kofa or Password Reset

3. Check All Mail, Spam, and Promotions folder

4. If you have Yahoo, check Yahoo Spam folder too

5. Wait for at least 30 minutes. Don't click forgot password many times. Clicking many times will make Kofa block you for 24 hours.

Method 2: Confirm Which Email is Linked to Your UNIBEN Kofa Account

This is what solved the issue for most students I helped.

1. Go to UNIBEN Kofa Portal: https://uniben.waeup.org/login

2. Don't login. Click on "Forgot Password? / Request New Password"

3. Enter your Matric Number or Application Number

4. Kofa will show you a hint of the email like o*_e@gmail.com or a*_*1@yahoo.com

5. Now you know which email to check. Many students realize it's their old email.

If you no longer have access to that old email, skip to Method 4.

Method 3: Use Phone Number to Reset Instead of Email

UNIBEN Kofa now allows password reset with phone number.

1. On the Forgot Password page, select "Reset via Phone Number" if you see it

2. Enter the phone number you used during Post UTME

3. You will get SMS with new password in 5 minutes

4. This is faster than email during deadline period

Method 4: Contact UNIBEN ICT to Change Your Recovery Email

If your linked email has typo or you lost access to old email, you must contact ICT.

This is the only method that works if you can't access old email.

Attach your student ID card or admission letter. They will reply within 24-48 hours with new password.

Method 5: Use a Laptop and Chrome Browser to Request Again

Some students use Opera Mini or UC Browser which blocks Kofa pop-up.

1. Use Chrome browser on laptop

2. Clear cache

3. Go to https://uniben.waeup.org/login

4. Click Forgot Password around 7am - 9am when Kofa server is free

5. Enter your matric number slowly and submit once

Morning requests work 3x faster than afternoon requests.

How to Avoid UNIBEN Forgot Password Problem Next Time

1. After you recover your password, go to Kofa Profile and update your email to your active Gmail

2. Add your active phone number to Kofa profile

3. Save your Kofa password in your Google Password Manager or write it in your WhatsApp saved messages

4. Don't use Yahoo for UNIBEN Kofa - Yahoo delays Kofa emails a lot. Use Gmail.
