Babcock University School Fees 2026/2027: Full Fees for All Courses, Accommodation and Feeding

When I started looking into how much it would cost to pay my sister's school fees at Babcock University, I thought I would simply find one figure and work with it.

I was wrong.

The more I looked at the fee structure, the more I realised that many people asking about Babcock University school fees are actually looking for different things.

Some want to know the tuition for their course. Some want to know how much a new 100-level student will pay. Others want to know whether accommodation and feeding are included. Parents want to know the amount they should prepare for the year, while students mostly want to know the first-semester payment.

That is why I decided to put everything together in one place.

Babcock University does not have one single school-fee amount for every student. The amount depends on the programme, level, feeding option, accommodation choice and applicable additional charges.

For the 2026/2027 academic session, the university's official undergraduate fee schedule shows instructional charges ranging from about ₦1.06 million to ₦2.25 million per full academic year, depending on the programme and level. Law is among the highest-priced regular undergraduate programmes on the published schedule, while Education programmes are among the lower-priced options.

And that is only the instructional component.

Once feeding, accommodation and applicable miscellaneous charges are added, the total amount a student needs can be considerably higher.

So, if you are trying to find out how much Babcock University school fees really cost, this article breaks down the figures.

Babcock University School Fees for 400 Level

For 400 level, the published instructional charges include:

Course400-Level Full-Year Fee1st Semester
Accounting₦1,272,866.35₦827,363.13
Agriculture₦1,174,748.35₦763,586.43

Political Science₦1,207,454.35₦784,845.33
Public Health₦1,207,454.35₦784,845.33
Software Engineering₦1,272,866.35₦827,363.13
Theology₦1,142,040.05₦742,326.03

These figures are for the instructional component. Additional applicable charges are separate.

How Much Is Babcock University Accommodation?

Accommodation is not one fixed amount.

The current schedule gives four accommodation options:

AccommodationFull Year1st Semester
Classic Plus₦564,180.00₦282,090.00
Classic Hostel₦526,568.00₦263,284.00
Premium Hostel₦404,398.40₦202,199.20
Regular Hostel₦397,712.00₦198,856.00

So, depending on the accommodation selected, a student can spend between ₦397,712 and ₦564,180 per year on the listed accommodation options.

This is one reason it is misleading to tell someone simply that "Babcock school fees are ₦1.5 million."

That amount may represent only the instructional component.

How Much Is Feeding at Babcock University?

Students can choose between two feeding plans listed by the university.

Feeding optionFull Year1st Semester
2 Meals₦952,000₦476,000
3 Meals₦1,428,000₦714,000

This means a student choosing the three-meal plan pays considerably more for feeding than a student on the two-meal option.

This is another major expense parents need to include when calculating the real cost of studying at Babcock.

How Much Does a Babcock Student Need for School Fees and Accommodation?

Let's use a simple example.

Suppose a 100-level Accounting student chooses:

  • Instructional charges: ₦1,536,283.70

  • Two-meal feeding: ₦952,000

  • Classic Plus accommodation: ₦564,180

The three major components alone come to:

₦1,536,283.70 + ₦952,000 + ₦564,180 = ₦3,052,463.70

That is before applicable other charges.

So if someone tells you that an Accounting student needs only ₦1.5 million for the whole year, that would not represent the full cost of the three major components.

The same principle applies to other courses.

What Are the Other Charges at Babcock University?

Apart from instructional fees, feeding and accommodation, the university publishes a number of other charges.

For the current fee structure, the listed charges include:

Charge100 Level200/300 Level400/500 Level
Department₦9,000₦9,000₦9,000
Devotional₦10,000₦10,000₦6,600
Matriculation₦37,000
Psycho-Social Test₦18,000₦18,000₦18,000
Sport and Social₦18,500₦18,500₦18,500
ID Card₦30,000₦30,000₦30,000
PCF₦19,500₦19,500₦19,500
BUSA₦10,000₦10,000₦10,000
Result Verification₦15,000
Medical Insurance₦70,000₦70,000₦35,000
TCDR₦40,000₦40,000₦40,000

The university's published totals for these listed charges are:

  • 100 Level: ₦269,415 for the first semester and ₦346,830 for the session

  • 200/300 Level: ₦217,415 for the first semester and ₦294,830 for the session

  • 400/500 Level: ₦179,015 for the first semester and ₦221,430 for the session.

Some charges are not applicable to every student, which is why the final bill can differ depending on the student's programme and level.

What Does the Instructional Fee Include?

This is worth explaining because the phrase "tuition" can be confusing.

Babcock states that instructional charges include tuition, registration, library and development fees

Therefore, when you see an amount such as:

Accounting – ₦1,536,283.70

that is not just tuition in the narrow sense.

It represents the instructional component listed by the university.

Other charges such as feeding, accommodation and applicable programme-specific fees are separate.

Which Babcock Courses Have the Highest School Fees?

Looking at the published undergraduate instructional schedule, Law stands out among the regular programmes at ₦2,251,987 for 100 and 200 level.

Engineering programmes and Nursing Science are also relatively high at ₦1,734,173.50 for 100 and 200 level.

Architecture is listed at ₦1,520,750, while Computer Science and Software Engineering are listed at ₦1,536,283.70.

Education programmes are among the lower figures at ₦1,063,036.90 for 100 and 200 level.

Babcock University School Fees for Law

Law students have a separate and higher instructional fee structure.

The published figures are:

LevelFull Year1st Semester
100₦2,251,987.00₦1,463,791.55
200₦2,251,987.00₦1,463,791.55
300₦2,097,988.00₦1,363,692.20
400₦1,905,988.50₦1,238,892.53
500₦1,905,988.50₦1,238,892.53

These amounts are instructional charges. Feeding, accommodation and applicable other charges are additional.

Babcock University School Fees for Nursing

Nursing Science is also among the more expensive undergraduate programmes.

The published instructional charges are:

LevelFull Year1st Semester
100₦1,734,173.50₦1,127,212.78
200₦1,734,173.50₦1,127,212.78
300₦1,635,228.60₦1,062,898.59
400₦1,406,283.70₦914,084.41
500₦1,406,283.70₦914,084.41

Nursing students can also have applicable laboratory and programme-related charges in addition to the instructional fee.

Babcock University School Fees for Computer Science

Computer Science students have the following instructional charges:

LevelFull Year1st Semester
100₦1,536,283.70₦998,584.41
200₦1,536,283.70₦998,584.41
300₦1,437,338.80₦934,270.22
400₦1,272,866.35₦827,363.13

Computer-related programmes can also attract IT certification charges. Babcock states that IT Certification applies to students in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, Computer Science and Software Engineering.

Babcock University School Fees for Engineering

The published instructional fee for programmes such as Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics and Mechanical Engineering is:

LevelFull Year1st Semester
100₦1,734,173.50₦1,127,212.78
200₦1,734,173.50₦1,127,212.78
300₦1,635,228.60₦1,062,898.59
400₦1,635,228.60₦1,062,898.59
500₦1,635,228.60₦1,062,898.59

The university also notes that laboratory charges apply to relevant programmes and that SWEP applies to Engineering students from 200 level and above under the stated conditions.

Is Accommodation Compulsory at Babcock University?

The fee schedule separates accommodation into different options, including Classic Plus, Classic, Premium and Regular.

It also lists off-campus charges for certain categories of students.

The published off-campus figures are:

CategoryOff-Campus
All programmes except Law₦388,960
Law students₦463,760
Nursing students (generic)₦388,960
Nursing Direct Entry₦222,750

The university's schedule also lists different combinations of meals and accommodation for eligible categories.

So students should not assume that everyone must pay the same accommodation amount.

Babcock University Acceptance Fee

The acceptance fee is separate from the normal instructional fee.

In a university notice concerning student resumption, the institution stated that the non-refundable acceptance fee is:

ProgrammeAcceptance Fee
Most courses₦200,000
Law₦300,000
Nursing₦300,000
Medicine₦500,000

The notice also states that the acceptance fee is non-refundable and is deemed to be part of the school fees.

This is particularly important for newly admitted students because the acceptance payment can be required before completing the registration process.

How Much Should a Parent Budget for a Babcock Student?

This depends heavily on the course and lifestyle arrangement.

For a student staying on campus, the parent should think about at least these categories:

  1. Instructional charges

  2. Feeding

  3. Accommodation

  4. Other university charges

  5. Acceptance fee for a new student

  6. Books and academic materials

  7. Personal expenses

  8. Transportation and other miscellaneous needs

The first four are the major university charges shown in the official fee schedule.

For example, using a 100-level Accounting student:

Main expenseAmount
Instructional₦1,536,283.70
2-meal plan₦952,000
Classic Plus accommodation₦564,180
Subtotal₦3,052,463.70

This subtotal does not include every possible additional charge, personal expenses or the acceptance fee.

That is why parents should budget based on the student's actual programme rather than simply asking, "How much is Babcock school fees?"

Does Babcock Allow Payment by Semester?

The published fee schedule gives both full-year and first-semester instructional figures.

For example, Accounting is listed at ₦1,536,283.70 for the full year and ₦998,584.41 for the first semester.

The same format is used for many other programmes.

However, the exact amount payable at a particular point can depend on the student's bill and applicable charges.

Students should therefore use the actual bill generated for their programme and level when making payment.

What Additional Fees Can Babcock Students Pay?

Not every student pays every additional fee.

The university identifies several programme- or level-specific charges.

These include:

IT Certification

Applicable to Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, Computer Science and Software Engineering students.

Graduation and Alumni Fees

Applicable to graduating students in the specified 400–500 level categories.

E-Payment Course

Applicable to 300–500 level students.

Laboratory Fee

Applicable to relevant programmes in Computing, Engineering, Environmental Science, Nursing, Basic and Applied Sciences, Public Health and the College of Health and Medical Sciences.

Fraud Audit Course

Applicable to specified International Law and Diplomacy students.

Teaching Practice

Applicable to students in Education at the relevant levels.

SWEP

Applicable to Engineering students from 200 level and above under the university's stated conditions.

IT Competence

Applicable to non-computer students at the specified levels.

The university says its miscellaneous category includes items such as PCF, BUSA and departmental fees.

Is Babcock University Expensive?

Compared with many Nigerian universities, Babcock is a relatively expensive private university.

But looking only at the tuition figure does not tell the whole story.

A student and parent should consider what is included in the overall university experience, including accommodation, feeding and the different services covered by the university's charges.

More importantly, the cost is different from one programme to another.

For a family planning financially, it makes more sense to calculate the student's actual programme, level and living arrangement than to use one general Babcock fee figure.

What Is the Cheapest Course to Study at Babcock University?

Based on the current undergraduate instructional schedule, Education Programmes have one of the lowest listed instructional charges.

The figures are:

  • 100 level: ₦1,063,036.90

  • 200 level: ₦1,063,036.90

  • 300 level: ₦1,000,495.60

  • 400 level: ₦854,224.95

That is the instructional component only.

It does not mean that an Education student will pay only those amounts for everything because feeding, accommodation and applicable additional charges are separate.

What Is the Most Expensive Regular Undergraduate Course?

Among the regular undergraduate programmes shown on the current schedule, Law has the highest instructional charge listed in the main undergraduate table.

The full-year amounts are:

  • 100 level: ₦2,251,987

  • 200 level: ₦2,251,987

  • 300 level: ₦2,097,988

  • 400 level: ₦1,905,988.50

  • 500 level: ₦1,905,988.50

Again, this is not the student's complete yearly bill.

Important Things to Know Before Paying Babcock School Fees

If you are preparing to pay, there are a few things I would personally check before transferring money.

1. Know your exact programme

Do not use another student's bill as your own.

Two students in the same university can have different fees because they are studying different courses.

2. Know your level

The instructional fee changes for many programmes as students progress.

3. Decide on feeding

Two meals and three meals have different prices.

4. Decide on accommodation

Classic Plus, Classic, Premium and Regular have different prices.

5. Check applicable charges

A student in Nursing, Engineering, Computing or another specialised programme may have additional charges that do not apply to another student.

6. Check the actual bill

The official bill for the student should be the final figure used for payment.

Conclusion

If you are simply asking, "How much is Babcock University school fees?", there is no single answer.

For undergraduate students, the current published instructional fees range from approximately ₦1.06 million to ₦2.25 million per full year, depending on the course and level.

But the amount a student actually needs to budget can be much higher because feeding, accommodation and other applicable charges are separate.

For example, a 100-level Accounting student choosing the two-meal plan and Classic Plus accommodation would have:

  • ₦1,536,283.70 instructional fee

  • ₦952,000 feeding

  • ₦564,180 accommodation

giving a subtotal of ₦3,052,463.70 before other applicable charges.

For Law, the instructional fee alone is ₦2,251,987 at 100 and 200 level.

For Nursing and Engineering, it is ₦1,734,173.50 at 100 and 200 level.

For Computer Science and Software Engineering, it is ₦1,536,283.70 at 100 and 200 level.

And for Education programmes, it is ₦1,063,036.90 at 100 and 200 level.

So when planning for Babcock University, don't budget with tuition alone.

Calculate the instructional fee + feeding + accommodation + applicable charges.

That gives you a much more realistic picture of what it will cost to send a student to Babcock University.
